The T1 route isn't the only route First Bus is looking at, as the company is in the midst of a large-scale refresh of its entire network. The company recently announced a slew of service changes, including an end to end overhaul of its Thornbury line. Its new chief executive has announced plans to improve services on the T1 route, as well as the overall performance of the company.
Those who are looking for a place to celebrate the best of the best in theatre have a chance to do so at the Stars of the Stokes Awards presentation evening. Held at the Hilton Hotel in Woodlands Lane, Bradley Stoke, the Stars of the Stokes awards will be presented in May.
The awards will celebrate the accomplishments of the actors, directors, playwrights and musical directors that are recognized for their work in theatre. Nominations for the awards can be made on the website.
The evening kicked off with a LIVE feed from the Los Angeles thespian society. Six actors performed excerpts from plays that were nominated for the awards. The cast also performed vocal selections from plays that were nominated for musical awards.
Brian Stokes Mitchell received the Julie Harris Award, which honours his leadership as Chairman of The Actors Fund. Annette Bening presented the award to Stokes. In addition, a plaque was presented to Stokes for his work with the club. He has also received the Tony Award and a Drama Desk Award for his role in Man of La Mancha.
Taking place in Bradley Stoke, this run is organised by Sole Sisters Running Club. The route follows tarmac footpaths, tracks and multi-terrain tracks, through the Three Brooks Local Nature Reserve. It is part of the Bradley Stoke Community Festival. It is held annually in June. The event is aimed at anyone aged 16 or over. This year, more categories have been added to the 10K, including Veterans Male and Female. There are also a few new sponsors, so the run has become even more popular.
This year's event will take place on Sunday 3 July. There will be an enthusiastic crowd of spectators, who will be given a special medal and t-shirt as a reward for taking part. It is also part of the Stoke-on-Trent Festival of Running. There will be a full list of the races taking place, as well as an informative festival programme. It is also a great opportunity to achieve a personal best.
The event is organised by Sole Sisters Running Club, which is an all-women UK Athletics affiliated running group. They accept applications from Veteran Bradley Stoke residents, free of charge.
